Our Achievements

Objective 3 of the Productive Partnerships in Agriculture Project (PPAP) has been designed to improve market access through the provision of critical infrastructure; increasing farm-gate prices, product quality and market opportunities for smallholder farmers in the project’s target areas.

The PPAP has developed a model approach that facilitates the realisation of the 3 project objectives. Our partners for Objective 3 are undertaking 2 step-by-step activities:

  • Preparation of market access infrastructure investments
  • Development of market access infrastructure

Improving market access in the Islands Region

The Rangulit feeder road provides all-weather market access to people living in the Inland Baining Local Level Government area of Gazelle District.

Under Calls 1 and 2, seven infrastucture projects have been completed within East New Britain Province comprising 13km of roads and 1 bridge at:

  • Pumbakau feeder road (0.5km)
  • Rangulit feeder road (3.9km)
  • Vunapalading feeder road (1.5km)
  • Kaunsil Sawmill feeder road (2.4km)
  • Riet feeder road (2.4km)
  • Sikut box culvert bridge (0.2km)
  • Laan feeder road (2.1km)

Also under Call 1 and 2, three infrastucture projects have been completed within the Autonomous Region of Bougainville comprising 14.9km of roads and 1 bridge at:

  • Oria feeder road (5.4km)
  • Koguikiru feeder road (6.5km)
  • Kariapa-Wapo feeder road (3km)

Improving market access in the Momase Region

The Kiami feeder road provides all-weather market access to people living in the Maprik District of East Sepik Province.

Under Call 3, one infrastucture project has been completed within Morobe Province comprising 6.1km of road:

  • Wampua feeder road (6.1km)

Also under Call 3, one infrastucture project has been completed within Madang Province comprising 6.5km of road:

  • Yal feeder road (6.5km)

Also under Call 3, five infrastucture project have been completed within East Sepik Province comprising 19.3km of road:

  • Hagama-Nimisoli feeder road (4.8km)
  • Jame feeder road (2.1km)
  • Ami-Ningalem feeder road (4.6km)
  • Kiami feeder road (2.8km)
  • Urita feeder road (5.0km)
