The Productive Partnerships in Agriculture Project (PPAP) has developed a model approach that supports the creation of long-term partnerships between smallholder farmers, farmer groups and the private sector with technical assistance from government and civil society agencies.
Our partnership building approach facilitates the realisation of the 3 project objectives:
- To strengthen institutional performance and industry coordination
- To build productive partnerships between smallholder farmers and the private sector
- To improve market access through the provision of critical infrastructure
Developing relationships along the supply chains by building partnerships between exporters, processors, traders and producers is improving both the productivity and quality of smallholder cocoa production. Many PPAP partnerships have strengthened existing relationships between growers, processors and exporters. Fostering a scaling-up of these market-oriented interventions and developing new partnerships are the means by which PPAP is achieving its development objective.
